Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G Review

Here’s a value packed Xiaomi mid ranger the Redmi note 14 pro 4G. There’s a lot more that sets, this phone apart from the 5G model besides the connectivity. So, let’s find out in our Redmi note 14 pro 4G review.

Having ip 68 rated INR protection against water

If you’re looking at the pro models of Xiaomi’s Redmi note series, there are three tiers to choose from the pro 4G which we’re reviewing today is the least expensive and The Pro Plus while the Redmi note 14 pro 4G and Redmi note 14 pro 5G are almost identical in name.

There are quite a few differences between the two the 4G model. We have here has a larger battery than the global 5G model and a different screen and chipset storage is expandable here on top of the 128 256 or 512 gigs built in. And you have a headphone jack here too which the 5G model is missing. However instead of having ip 68 rated INR protection against water submersion like on the 5G the Redmi note 14 pro 4G is rated lower at IP 64.

Xiaomi has preserved pretty much the same design here though it’s curvy and elegant you can get either of vegan leather or a plastic backing and We have the plastic one here with a matte silky finish both the back and the front curve into a thin plastic frame.

6.67 in OLED with a 120 HZ refresh rate display

The Redmi note 14 pro 4G has a different display than the 5G model it’s still a 6.67 in OLED with a 120 HZ refresh rate but here it has a lower 1080p resolution. But the sharpness is still good you’re missing other things here though like support for HDR video content or 12bit color.

There is still Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection, and the max brightness is actually better here than the 5G models. it’s about the same at around 540 nits, but with auto mode on the 4G model can boost all the way up to, 1500 nits compared to less than 1150 on the 5G model. As refresh rate Behavior goes you get a smooth 120 HZ for your swiping and scrolling this can dial down to 60 HZ when you stop interacting with the screen to save energy besides the headphone jack. I already mentioned the note 14 pro 4G has a pair of stereo speakers they scored a good Mark for loudness.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G

I can’t Esape I’m seeing you everywhere you can wake up and unlock the Redmi Note 14 pro with an under display Optical fingerprint reader, it’s fast and reliable and there’s an IR blaster on the phone too which means you can use it to control other devices with at the time of review the interface of the Redmi note 14 pro 4G is Xiaomi’s hyper OS 1.4 running on top of Android 14.

It should receive an update to the new Hyper OS 2 in the near future speaking of software support. Xiaomi offers at least 3 years of major updates and four years of security patches Xiaomi has preserved a similar look and feel for Their software interface for a few Generations. If you’ve used a Xiaomi or Poco phone recently you should feel right at home. The chipset of the Redmi note 14 pro 4G is a Media tech Helio g 100 Ultra, it’s a budget chip That is less powerful than the Demens city 7 300 Ultra within the 5G model.

BATTERY

The note 14 pro 4G comes in on the lower end of the spectrum for this price range but while gaming is a bit of a struggle there’s still enough power here for a smooth everyday experience without hiccups and as is typical for a mid-range phone with a low power chipset the thermal management is great here with hardly any throttling.

The global Redmi note 14 pro 4G has a large 5500 MAH battery and the phone earned an endurance rating of 12 hours and 7 Minutes in our tests, That’s solid battery life but not spectacular. There’s Support for 45 W charging here and the charger is bundled with the phone with it. We were able to charge from 0 to 42% in half an hour and a full charge took an hour and 21 minutes nothing too Speedy similar to the 5G note 14 pro.

An 8 mega p Ultra-wide and a 2 mega p macro camera

The 4G model has three cameras on the back a mega p main camera, An 8 mega p Ultra-wide and a 2 mega p macro camera. The main camera bends pixels to produce 12.5 megapixel photos by default these are decent. With a good amount of detail and nice colors contrast and dynamic range could be better though shots of people are solid, and portraits are good but subject detection and separation do trip up occasionally.

The skin rendition is also not our favorite two times digitally Zoom shots from the main camera look good They’re just not quite as sharp as the regular photos with the help of automatic night mode processing. The main cam produces great nighttime photos there’s a lot of detail no noise pleasant colors and wide dynamic range. The note 14 Pro 4g’s Ultra-wide camera isn’t impressive detail is about average contrast is mediocre and the frame has a lot of noise.

The ultrawide camera’s photos are soft and with poor contrast at least the color saturation is fine, and the dynamic range is good close-up shots from the dedicated 2 mega p macro camera are usable but have plenty of noise and Softness the Redmi note 14 pro 4G has a 32 mega p selfie camera and selfies come out in the full 32 megapixels. But facial features look a bit soft from up close almost like a bit out of focus unfortunately because of his Helio g100 chipset the phone is limited to 1080p video capture the full HD videos when shooting from a stationary position.

The 4G Redmi note 14 pro it’s an okay mid ranger that covers all the basics quite well and you get a headphone jack here and expandable storage which aren’t. So easy to find nowadays but there are definitely quite a few Cuts here compared to the 5G model. And at launch the note 14 pro 4G isn’t even that cheap either depending on your needs. You might want to upgrade to the 5G version or shop around for more bang for your buck.
